Visakhapatnam: The stage is set for the second infrastructure working group meeting of G20 Group here on Tuesday amid unprecedented security bandobust.
For the two-day crucial meeting hosted by the Ministry of External Affairs with State Department of Municipal Administration and Urban Development as the co-host, around 63 delegates from G20 member countries including the European Union, invitees and international organisations will participate at a five star hotel.
The G20 Infrastructure Working Group will deliberate on various aspects of infrastructure investments including developing infrastructure as an asset class, promoting quality infrastructure investment and identifying innovative instruments for mobilising financial resources for infrastructure investment. The outcomes of the meeting will be fed into the G20 Finance Track priorities and promote infrastructure development in a big way.
The flagship priority to be discussed in the meeting is on ‘financing cities of tomorrow: inclusive, resilient and sustainable’ along with other priorities outlined in the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda. India is holding the presidency of G20 Group.
Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is expected to take part in a gala dinner party being organised for the delegates on Tuesday. Every day cultural programmes are being arranged in addition to visits to places of tourist interest in and around the city to showcase Visakhapatnam’s potential as an international tourist destination.
